Dr. Sarita Lyons

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.  Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.  Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine.  Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. 1Timothy 4:14-16 Dr. Lyons is the wife of Mark Lyons, a commercial airline pilot for Jet Blue Airways and a retired Lt. Colonel from the Delaware Air National Guard. They have been married for eleven years and are the grateful parents of four happy and energetic children, Malachi (8), Sophia (7), Olivia (5), and Gabriella (4).  A native of Philadelphia and a product of the Philadelphia Public Schools (Central H.S.), Dr. Lyons graduated from Florida A&M University, where she studied Broadcast Journalism and Psychology.  In 2000, just before marrying and having children, she was accepted into one of only four joint J.D./ Ph.D. programs in the country, where she studied Law and Psychology.  She graduated from Villanova University School of Law and received her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University. Dr. Lyons earned a Ph.D. in Clinical and Forensic Psychology from Drexel University and is currently in private practice in Philadelphia providing counseling for individuals, families and couples.  She is also a co-host on a radio show called “Psych Talk,” which is broadcast in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware on radio station WNJC, 1360AM.       

In addition to ministry, Dr. Lyons has been a keynote, retreat, and conference speaker, and has conducted workshops for politicians, corporations, colleges, community centers, churches, hospitals, and high schools on a wide range of topics.  She is passionate about her call to counsel and minister to women.  She desires to help people grow emotionally and spiritually, and to build their faith through the word of God.  Dr. Lyons spreads the Gospel and the message that no matter who you are, or where you’ve been, or what you’ve been through you can change and become who God called you to be.  Dr. Lyons is the Founder and CEO of Uplifting People, LLC whose mission is to equip, empower, and encourage people to “grow and go higher in life.
